Ballot Measure straw poll results

my voice my choice

The Dean Democratic Club voted August 22, 2016 to make ballot measure endorsements in the June 7, 2016 California Primary in accordance with the results of the August 8, 2016 straw poll.

It’s that time, again! Statewide ballot measures have qualified for the November ballot, and the Dean Club is here to help you sort them all out. We met at the Democratic Headquarters on August 8, 2016, to hear presentations on each of the measures and hold a straw poll. We also had some special guests speak about local ballot measures. The results of the poll will serve as an endorsement recommendation to the Dean Club at our business meeting on August 22, 2016.

The results of the straw poll are here: Ballot Measures straw poll results

Clean Money Grassroots Summit in Palo Alto

Join the Clean Money Grassroots Summit on May 7
— Make history by passing the most powerful anti-Dark Money bill in the nation!

Earlier this year, Clean Money activists like you and our allies helped AB 700, the California DISCLOSE Act, achieve a landmark bipartisan 60-15 victory in the Assembly, with a record 9 Republicans joining every Democratic Assemblymember in voting Yes.

California Clean Money Campaign grassroots leaders and activists throughout Northern California will be coming to a full-day summit on May 7th in Palo Alto.

Join us to learn how to talk about AB 700 and the other new Clean Money bills — and to plan the full-scale grassroots campaign to get the strongest bill disclosing secret money on political ads in the nation through the Senate and into law!

WHAT:     Clean Money Grassroots Summit
WHEN:    Saturday, May 7th from 9:00am-4:30pm  (Light breakfast at 9:00am.  Lunch will also be served.)
WHERE:  Unitarian Universalist Church, 505 E. Charleston Rd, Palo Alto, CA (in a handicapped-accessible building)
COST:     Free (but co-sponsorship or donations appreciated)

CARPOOLS will be coming from all over, so contact us if you need a ride or can offer one.

This is a full-day summit; however, you can come for just the morning or afternoon sessions if you can’t make the whole day.  The morning is a detailed training and update on the new AB 700 and other new bills, and the afternoon session is about implementing the campaign plan.

Can’t make it?  Please chip in to help us have a successful summit and campaign!

For questions about transportation or lodging, email or call Nancy at 650-339-9540.  We’d all love to see you there and have you join in planning and working for our winning campaign!

See for more information on the California Disclose Act.
