National Women’s Equality Day – Silicon Valley

Womens Equality DayRally and March

Saturday, August 29, 2015

8:00AM – 11:30AM

San Jose City Hall

It’s 2015, and high time to rally together to ignite the movement for equal rights and representation for women! This year is the 95th Anniversary of a women’s right to vote! While women have come a long way towards gender equality since 1920, we’re still not there. Women and girls still live under constant threat of violence, poverty, inequity, misogyny and sexism. We hope to educate, organize and activate Silicon Valley in efforts to bring greater attention to these inequalities and what we can collectively do about it.

Everyone is welcome! Friends, family, significant others, kids, dogs, EVERYONE IS INVITED! BECAUSE… As you know, WOMEN’S EQUALITY IS NOT JUST A WOMAN’S ISSUE! 🙂

People are welcome to dress up as their favorite SHE-Hero’s, make signs, etc.! 🙂  It is going to be lots of fun!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME and hope to hear from you! SCCDAWN.Media@gmail.com We hope you all want to be involved! 🙂
Men are particularly encouraged to attend, allies!!!

DFA Link Meeting – Book Club

DFA logoJuly’s meeting was very stimulating with discussion of an important book on saving the middle class and at the same time curbing environmental exploitation, With Liberty and Dividends for All by Peter Barnes. If you want to read it you might be able to borrow it from one of us. We found it to be provocative and original and hopeful.

The subject is very much at the nexus of environment, economics and social justice.  We used a book charting process which facilitated participation, whether you read the book or not.

Thanks to all that participated.
